Demon, not you Daemon... Demon! Played by the great Shane Rangi!
This was a particularly fun one to do. I don't often get to work in comedy what with most live action films all trying to out badass/replicate one another with "gritty realism". I was tasked to do some designs for Pure Evil's loyal subjects in this case, Demon Dog.
Jemaine asked if his son, who was 12 at the time and a big creature enthusiast, could help in the design and did some brilliant drawings! One in particular I thought had a lot of persnality and humour to it which was the inspiration for what became the final design in the first piece of concept art. I did a couple of variations but we stuck with the first concept in the end. Was really happy with this from brief to screen!
